Steve Roberts

Steve Roberts, Chief Financial Officer, began his career in 1989. He first joined Lutz in the early ’90s as a CPA, gaining foundational experience in public accounting before spending the next two decades in various financial leadership roles across multiple industries. In 2019, he returned to Lutz as CFO, bringing with him a broad perspective and a deep understanding of business operations and growth strategy. 

Overseeing the firm’s financial operations, Steve leads budgeting, forecasting, and internal reporting while managing Lutz’s internal accounting team. He also supports firmwide strategic initiatives and contributes to operational planning across departments. A strong believer in solving problems with both insight and practicality, Steve is known for staying calm under pressure and keeping the focus on what matters most. 

At Lutz, Steve’s presence extends beyond numbers—his energy, approachability, and quick wit have become an integral part of the firm’s culture. His ability to balance big-picture planning with day-to-day problem-solving makes him a trusted leader across the firm. 

Steve lives in Omaha, NE, with his wife, Heather, their three children, and a golden retriever. Outside the office, you’ll likely find him playing ice hockey, golfing, or traveling.
