Lutz, a Nebraska-based business solutions firm, announces the redemption of ownership held by longtime leader Ron Nebbia. This transition, a routine part of the firm’s ownership governance, creates ownership opportunities for the firm’s next generation of leaders. Post-redemption, Ron will remain actively involved as a business consultant, continuing to serve clients and guide internal teams in a part-time capacity.
Since joining Lutz in 1987, Ron has played an integral role in shaping the firm’s growth, culture, and entrepreneurial spirit. He was hired by Ralph Lutz for his forward-thinking mindset and ability to stay ahead of technology trends that would prove essential as the firm evolved. Ron helped implement and develop several firm-wide tools over the years, from early laptop adoption and Excel training to the launch of Lutz Tech and the development of internal platforms like Threadworks. He also served on the board of directors and executive committee for 25 years, contributing to key strategic decisions that positioned the firm for long-term success.
“Early in his career, Ron was asked to take on a nontraditional focus, to explore and build new business lines outside of audit and tax,” said Mark Duren, Former Managing Shareholder. “That direction led to the creation of divisions outside of the Accounting practice: Financial, Talent, and Tech. He helped convert the needs of business owners into scalable service offerings and mentored the leaders who now carry them forward.”
Outside the firm, Ron has played a key role in advancing the profession. In 2024, he received the inaugural John Connor Family Award from UNL’s School of Accountancy for his contributions to the college and support of future accounting professionals. His legacy is felt not only at Lutz, but throughout the broader business community.
“Ron has always had a unique ability to see what’s ahead,” said Ryan Cook, Lutz’s Managing Shareholder. “He’s helped countless businesses navigate their financial structure, operational plans, and growth projection strategy. His strategic vision and steady leadership helped establish the direction of the firm early on, and his impact continues to define how we work and serve our clients today.”
