Lutz Shareholder Ron Nebbia Receives Inaugural John Connor Family Award

Lutz, a leading accounting and business solutions firm, is proud to announce that Shareholder Ron Nebbia has been named the inaugural recipient of the John Connor Family Award by the School of Accountancy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).

The John Connor Family Award was established to recognize distinguished alumni who have made significant contributions to the success of the School of Accountancy. Nebbia was selected for his extensive involvement with the advisory board, his commitment to continually improving the School, and his contributions to the College of Business. 

"For me, it's more about connecting with the people involved. The institution is remarkable, and the relationships I've cultivated at UNL have been invaluable to my personal and professional journey,” said Nebbia. "One of the most rewarding parts of my career has been watching former interns like Ryan Cook, who started with us 20 years ago, now preparing to take the reins as our next managing partner." 

Nebbia was honored at the Fall Celebration of Excellence on September 19th at the Wick Alumni Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. The event provided an opportunity for Nebbia to share insights from his career and experiences with fellow alumni and current students. 

The award is named after John Connor, a 1966 graduate of the School of Accountancy who had a successful career in public accounting and as an executive in the wireless telecommunications industry. The Connor family has been a longtime supporter of the School of Accountancy. 

This recognition underscores Lutz's ongoing commitment to excellence in accounting and its strong partnership with the UNL School of Accountancy. The firm continues to play a crucial role in developing and supporting the next generation of accounting professionals.
