This summer, our firm came together for a powerful day of giving back to our communities. Over 250 employees across Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island, and remote locations dedicated their time to supporting organizations in meaningful and tangible ways. Collectively, we volunteered at 12 nonprofits, contributing to causes from food insecurity to homelessness. Here’s a quick snapshot of our impact:
- Packaged 20,160 diapers for the Nebraska Diaper Bank.
- Packaged 250 period kits for Access Period.
- We revitalized the Stephen Center's campus by clearing overgrowth, trimming landscaping, and laying mulch/river rock, enhancing outdoor spaces to create a more welcoming environment.
- We helped the Siena Francis House get ahead in serving hundreds by organizing their pantry and clothing donations and prepping dinner.
- We painted the 24-hour daycare on Abide's campus, adding a fresh, welcoming look to a space that serves families daily.
- We sorted over 20 racks of clothing by gender/size to create a store-like experience for shoppers at the Open Door Mission.
- We supported Goodwill by sorting donations, organizing common areas and storage, stocking the retail floor, and preparing textiles for recycling - all while contributing to a program that provides job experience and opportunities for students with disabilities.
- We assembled 300 burritos to stock refrigerators and freezers at the Omaha Home for Boys for those who are experiencing food and nutrition insecurity.
- We partnered with Keep Omaha Beautiful by removing litter at Spring Lake Park and the surrounding neighborhoods, enhancing its appearance and supporting a healthier environment.
- We bundled 1,780 packages of fresh produce for the community at the Food Bank of Lincoln.
- We pulled weeds and laid out fresh mulch in a rest/play area at the Lincoln Children's Zoo.
- We tackled a variety of projects, including landscaping, organizing storage garages, assembling donated bunk beds, and painting hallways in the long-term shelter at Hope Harbor.
In just one afternoon, our firm’s volunteer efforts became part of these nonprofits’ larger mission. We embodied our tagline, “Mind What Matters,” putting our values into action.
Seeing our team members come together for one shared purpose was incredible. This event was about more than lending a hand - it was about living out our core value of Humanity by showing up for our communities in meaningful ways. I’m so proud of the impact we were able to make together.
